The new issue of The Green Parent magazine (June/July) includes the first of my regular interviews with parenting experts. I’m so happy to be contributing regularly to The Green Parent as I’ve been a subscriber for about three years and love the ethos of the magazine. I wrote my first feature for them last year about stay at home mums.
My first Q&A features Kim John Payne, author of Simplicity Parenting: Using the Extraordinary Power of Less to Raise Calmer, Happier and More Secure Kids. It was a real honour to interview Kim as this is a book I come back to time and time again.
In a nutshell, the Simplicity Parenting philosophy encourages parents to recognise the dangers of “too much stuff, too many choices and too little time”, and tackle these by simplifying their child’s home environment and schedule, establishing rhythms and rituals in daily life and filtering out the adult world.
You can view a PDF of the feature here.
I was also excited to see that I’d been chosen as one of the featured contributors in this edition.
